Spoiled young orphan Geoffrey Braemer (Freddie Bartholomew) likes to pretend he's an English aristocrat to steal from exclusive jewelry stores with his two young cohorts. When he is caught and sentenced to Dr. Barnardo's home for orphaned boys, a mariner's academy where young men are trained to be sailors, he is taken under the wing of Terry O'Mulvaney (Mickey Rooney).

The American motion picture debut of Peter Lawford.
