A gritty, bloody 1970s police procedural, wherein Detective Inspector Martin Beck (Carl-Gustaf Lindstedt) investigates the brutal murder of Police Lieutenant Nyman while convalescing in a hospital, soon discovering that Nyman was corrupt and abusive, and had made enemies leading up to his death.

Set in and shot on location in Stockholm.
