Vintage oversize borderless reference photograph of director François Truffaut and actors Catherine Deneuve (then Truffaut's wife) and Jean-Paul Belmondo on the set of the 1969 French neo-noir film. With manuscript pencil annotations regarding layout on the verso, along with the stamp of France-Soir dated 9 JUIL. (JULY) 1969 and a newspaper clipping affixed to the lower right corner.

Based on Cornell Woolrich's 1947 novel "Waltz into Darkness." A wealthy plantation owner on an island in the Indian Ocean anticipates the arrival of his bride-to-be, but is surprised to discover the woman who arrives from France bears no resemblance to the woman in the photograph.

Set on Reunion Island and Nice, France.

8 x 12 inches. Very Good, slightly wavy with two small manuscript ink annotations regarding cropping to the recto.
