Budapest: Interfoto, Circa 1970. Two vintage borderless reference photographs from the 1970 Hungarian film. With a printed mimeo snipe affixed to the verso.
From the archive of the PIX Agency, a photo house that acted as an intermediary between emigre photographers (as well as those still living in Europe) and the American magazine and newspaper market between 1935-1969.
A dramatization of the Hungarian peasant revolution in 1514, led by imprisoned peasant leader Gyorgy Dozsa. Director Ferenc Kosa was best known for "Ten Thousand Days" (1967, for which Kosa received the Best Director award at Cannes) and "Beyond Time" (1973).
Set and shot on location in Hungary.
One 7 x 7 inches, one 7 x 7.75 inches. Very Good plus, one with a light diagonal crease to the bottom right corner.
