Cronenberg's first release from a major Hollywood studio (Universal Pictures), a paranoid, surreal, disturbing masterpiece of body horror and a rumination on the potential malevolence of technology and mass media, one of most prescient and influential films of the 1980s.

A sleazy UHF television station owner (James Woods) discovers a broadcast signal transmitting images of sadomasochism and torture called "Videodrome," leading to hallucinations, body mutations, and global conspiracy.

Set in and shot on location in Toronto, Canada.
