From the collection of novelist William Hjortsberg, who worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood between 1977-1985. Hjortsberg is best known for the film adaptation of "Angel Heart" (1987), based on his 1978 novel.

A middle-aged small-town woman sells her soul to the devil in exchange for beauty and fame, but soon begins to miss her friends and family.

Set in Hollywood and the fictional town of Banning, California.
