After angering the Mafia, a stand-up comedian (Warren Beatty) finds himself on the run, taking on an alias and heading to Chicago. The film received spotty reviews upon release, but has since been reconsidered as a cult classic, heavily influenced by the New Wave and presaging Penn and Beatty's collaboration in "Bonnie and Clyde" two years later.
