The teenage daughter of a wealthy Sicilian quarry owner is seduced by her sister's fiance, prompting her parents to demand that he marry her instead to save her honor. A merciless, sensationalistic satire of Sicilian social customs, a worthy successor to director Pietro Germi's previous film "Divorce, Italian Style" (1961).

Set in Sciacca, Italy.
