Based on Elizabeth Goudge's 1944 novel "Green Dolphin Country." A miscommunication leads to an ill-fated marriage for two sisters—one strong-willed and sly, the other kind but slow-witted.

Set in Guernsey, England, and New Zealand.

Blue titled wrappers, stamped copy No. 1 and VAULT COPY on the front wrapper, dated 7-13-45, with credits for screenwriter Samson Raphaelson. Title page integral with the front wrapper, as issued. 189 leaves, with last page of text numbered 176. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only, with yellow and white revision pages throughout, dated variously between 7-19-45 and 11-9-45. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Very Good plus, bound with two gold brads.
