In this episode, Julie immerses herself in a newfound Christianity and drives her mother and sister crazy.

Broadcast on CBS for nine seasons from 1975 to 1984, "One Day at a Time," created by married writing duo Whitney Blake and Allan Manings, was based on Blake's life as a single mom raising children after her divorce from her first husband. Like many sitcoms developed by Norman Lear, the show frequently tackled serious life and relationship issues. The show was remade in 2017 as a series for Netflix, with a Latino cast starring Justina Machado, Rita Moreno, and Stephen Tobolowsky.
