In a rural French village, a young girl named Mouchette, or "Little Fly," lives a lonely, difficult life supporting her alcoholic father, sickly mother, and infant brother, and finds nothing but unkindness and despair in her daily interactions. One of Robert Bresson's greatest achievements, at turns grim and graceful, purportedly a favorite of Andrei Tarkovsky and Kelly Reichardt.
