Green founded Fleetwood Mac with drummer Mick Fleetwood and guitarist Jeremy Spencer in 1967, with a repertoire mostly composed of blues covers. Green would leave the band after a period of mental decline exacerbated by drug use in 1970, later being diagnosed with schizophrenia and spending time in and out of psychiatric hospitals throughout the remainder of the decade.
