Weston joined the band in 1972, as a replacement for the recently dropped Danny Kirwan, but upon the insistence of Mick Fleetwood was cut from the band in October 1973, as a result of Weston having had an affair with Fleetwood's then-wife, Jenny Boyd. Weston was the guitarist on the Fleetwood Mac albums "Penguin" (1972) and "Mystery to Me" (1973).
