Archive of nine original oversize photographs, including two signed by Russ Meyer, from the director's personal collection

N.p. Russ Meyer, Circa 2001. Archive of nine vintage oversize photographs by director Russ Meyer, including seven in color and one in black-and-white. Two photographs are signed by Meyer and another unknown person on the verso, and two are in a folding archival mat. All of the photographs are from an edition of 20 and are numbered "1/20" in black marker on the verso, excepting the black and white photograph of Haji from "Faster Pussycat" numbered “2/20.”

Meyer is best known for his distinctive films in the sexploitation genre of the 1960s and 1970s, but also worked as a still photographer throughout his career, shooting for Playboy in the magazine’s early years, including three centerfolds, one of which starred his then-wife, Eve Meyer.

Notable in the archive are images of Meyer regulars Lorna Maitland, Christy Hartburg (aka Christina Cummings), and Haji.

All photographs 11 x 14 inch C-prints, all struck circa 2001 by Meyer, and all from Meyer’s personal collection.

The archive includes:

1. Actress Haji on the Set of 'Faster Pussycat, Kill Kill!' (1975). In a custom folding archival 8-ply mat. Unsigned, numbered 2/20. Mat measures 16 x 20 inches.

2. Christina Cummings (billed as Christy Hartburg) on the Set of 'Supervixens' In a custom folding archival 8-ply mat. Unsigned, numbered 1/20. Mat measures 16 x 20 inches.

3. Lorna Maitland on the Set of 'Lorna' (1964). Unsigned, numbered 1/20. Two remnants of archival tape at the top margin (see image).

4. Model Playing Ping Pong (circa 1962). Signed by Meyer and an unknown person on the verso, numbered 1/20. Two remnants of archival tape at the top margin (see image).

5. Nude at the Foot of Light Pole on a Lake (date unknown). Unsigned, numbered 1/20. Two remnants of archival tape at the top margin (see image).

6. Nude Squatting at the Side of a Lake (date unknown). Unsigned, numbered 1/20.

7. Nude Reclining on a Boat in Dock (date unknown). Unsigned, numbered 1/20.

8. Female Breast (date unknown). Signed by Meyer and an unknown person on the verso, numbered 1/20.

9. Still Life of a tongue Touching a Cherry. (date unknown). Unsigned, numbered 1/20.

All photographs 11 x 14 inches. Fine. Two matted with 8 ply archival mats, with mats measuring 16 x 20 inches. Four with remnants of archival tape in the top margins. All as originally preserved by Meyer.
