[The Stockholm Catalogue] Published on the occasion of the Andy Warhol exhibition at Moderna Museet in Stockholm February to March 1968
Boston: Boston Book and Art, 1970. Third edition. Text in English and Swedish. Housed in the scarce original publisher's printed cardboard box.
The exhibition catalog for Andy Warhol's first European museum show, held at the Moderna Museet from February through March, 1968. The catalog was designed by Kasper König, who commissioned noted photographer Billy Name and a then-teenage Stephen Shore to document Warhol's life and work at The Factory on 231 East 47th Street. The resultant publication resembles an artist's book as much as an exhibition catalog, and is composed of (intentionally crude) reproductions of Warhol's most iconic works alongside snapshots of the Factory taken by Name. The catalog was widely influential, particularly on Japanese photography of the late 1960s and 1970s
