One of the largest marketing cooperatives in the US, Sunkist Growers was formed in 1893, a time when citrus acreage had increased in California by over tenfold. Today, the company remains one of California's largest landowners, and is the largest fresh produce shipper in the US, representing more than 6,000 members.
