A high school drummer convinces the principal to put on a dance to raise money for a dance orchestra, aided by his girlfriend. The second film in MGM's "Backyard Musical" series, following "Babes in Arms" (1939), and preceding "Babes on Broadway" (1941) and "Girl Crazy" (1943).

Set in Chicago.
