Various American Cities: NBC Television Network / Tandem Productions, Circa 1972-1977. Collection of 15 vintage photographs relating to the 1972-1977 television series. Eleven photographs with printed mimeo snipes affixed to the versos. Two photographs are from the short-lived series spin-off, "Sanford," which ran from 1980 to 1981.

Especially notable among the set is a photograph of actor Redd Foxx receiving an "Entertainer of the Year" award from the NAACP in 1973, accompanied by actor Ossie Davis.

Based on the 1962-1974 British sitcom "Steptoe and Son." A landmark in African American situational comedy, about a cantankerous, elderly junk dealer living with his long-suffering adult son in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. The show was enormously popular, and was one of the top ten highest rated series on American television from its first season through 1976, attributed by many to its edgy humor and outspoken portrayal of working-class life.
