The play opened on February 18, 1986, at the Manhattan Theatre Club with Kevin Bacon in the role of Dennis, later transferring to the Music Box Theatre on Broadway, where Bacon would be replaced by Baldwin in the latter's Broadway debut.
A black comedy satirizing the Roman Catholic Church and the police force, about two young thieves who attempt to keep a police inspector off their trail in the wake of a funeral parlor heist.
