Raynal's directorial debut, having worked for several years previously as an editor for Éric Rohmer, most notably with Rohmer's "Six Moral Tales" series. Released under the "Zanzibar Films" banner, an underground collective of independent, post-New Wave filmmakers, artists, and writers largely financed by French heiress Sylvina Boissonnas.

Shot on location in Barcelona.
