UAT was founded in 1949 in Paris by a group of technicians and the shipping line Chargeurs Réunis, and was headquartered out of the 8th arrondissement of Paris. In 1963 the company merged with Transports Aériens Intercontinentaux to form Union de Transports Aériens.
