The DNA Lounge opened in 1985 and has become one of San Francisco's most popular nightclubs, featuring two stages, four dance floors, and seven bars, the venue hosts live music, DJs, burlesque shows, and private parties.

Stephen Parr was a San Francisco director, film archivist and founder of the unusual stock footage company Oddball Films. In the 1980s Parr ran the Tenderloin nightclub Club Generic which featured live performance and experimental montages from Parr's growing collection of films, as well as being involved in avant-garde theater, as found in the 1990 flyer offered here.
