Inspired by the true story of Crystal Lee Sutton, a single mother who fought to unionize a textile company. Sally Field won Best Actress at both Cannes and the Academy Awards for her lead performance, and the film was also nominated for both the Palme d'Or and Best Picture.

Title page present, dated March 13, 1978, with credits for screenwriters Irving Ravetch and Harriet Frank Jr. 113 leaves, with last page of text numbered 112.
