Detroit: Emancipation Productions, 1970. Vintage program for the 1970 musical spectacular, held on August 1, 1970, at Cobo Arena (now known as Huntington Place) in Detroit.
The celebration featured performances by The Moments, Lonnie Smith, Edwin Starr, Eric and the Vikings, Freda Payne, Carl Carlton, Sweet James, Mad Dog and the Pups, and The Fabulous Counts. August 1 was a common day for celebrating Emancipation Day in Michigan, although in other places throughout the state, the holiday was celebrated on January 1.
