Based on the 1961 novella by Günter Grass, the second book in the Danzig Trilogy, and sequel to his 1959 novel "The Tin Drum." A former gymnast returns to his home town Danzig, and reflects on the fate of his classmate, Joachim, who disappeared during the war.
Shot on location in Gdansk, Gdynia, and Sopot, Poland.
