Based on the 1941 French novel "La Foire aux femmes" by Gilbert Dupé. Etchika Choureau stars as Ludvine, an orphan living in a small village who is in love with Jean-Pierre, who is jealously guarded by his female employer. On the day of the traditional "Fair of Woman," where young men can choose the village girl they fancy, Jean-Pierre picks Ludvine.

Shot on location in Deux-Sèvres and La Rochelle, France.
