A day after the November 22 assassination, Kennedy's body was brought back to Washington, where he was brought to the East Room of the White House for 24 hours. His body was then carried by horse-drawn caisson to the Capitol to lie in state, where his casket would be viewed by over 250,000 people over the course of the following 18 hours. He was finally laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on November 25, three days after his assassination.

8.75 x 8.25 inches, archivally mounted in a white mat measuring 14 x 11 inches. Very Good, with touchups for print on the recto, and light discoloration and an annotation in manuscript pencil on the top margin of the recto.
