N.p. N.p., 1923. Vintage borderless press photograph of heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey facing off against Pittsburgh light heavyweight Jack Burke on August 25, 1923. Date stamp and newspaper clipping on the verso.

Dempsey sparred with both Burke and George Godfrey in preparation for his important match with Luis Ángel Firpo in September of that year.

From the archive of the PIX Agency, an American photo house that acted as an intermediary between emigre photographers (as well as those still living in Europe) and the American magazine and newspaper market between 1935-1969.
