Barry L. Thumma was an award-winning photographer and photojournalist, best known for his Associated Press (AP) work covering presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton. Thumma retired from the AP in 1993 and died in 2003.
From the archive of the PIX Agency, an American photo house that acted as an intermediary between emigre photographers (as well as those still living in Europe) and the American magazine and newspaper market between 1935-1969.
