N.p. N.p., Circa 1960s. Vintage borderless photograph of psychologist and psychedelics enthusiast Timothy Leary at the Hitchcock Estate, circa 1960s. Printed mimeo snipe and PIX agency stamp crediting photographer Peter Gould on the verso.

In 1963, Leary and his entourage were given the use of the Hitchcock Estate, a mansion and surrounding grounds in Millbrook, New York, by the then-youngest members of the Hitchcock family, heirs to the Mellon fortune. The group gained notoriety during their time in Millbrook due to their liberal use of psychedelics, attracting a host of prominent countercultural visitors throughout the late 1960s. The mansion and its inhabitants were frequently the target of drug raids, culminating in the group's eviction in 1968.

From the archive of the PIX Agency, an American photo house that acted as an intermediary between emigre photographers (as well as those still living in Europe) and the American magazine and newspaper market between 1935-1969.
