Based on several stories from "Tevye the Dairyman" from Yiddish writer Sholom Aleichem, and adapted from the 1964 stage musical, about a poor Jewish milkman must come to terms with the modernity of the world outside of his orthodox traditions. Winner of three Academy Awards, including Best Cinematography and Best Score; nominated for five others, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Set in Anatevka, Russia, filmed on location in Croatia and London.
