New York: Coward McCann, 1943. First Edition. INSCRIBED by the author in the year of publication on the front endpaper: "To Jerry / with admiration / and every good wish / Sincerely / Jo Eisinger / 2/10/43 / Beverly Hills." Scarce in dust jacket, impossible to find signed.

Eisinger's only novel, basis for the 1946 film noir starring Edgar Buchanan and George Macready.

Very Good plus in a Good or better dust jacket. Slight lean, with evidence of erasure on the title page. Jacket has a chip and accompanying creasing at the bottom right corner of the front panel, with chipping and a few pinholes on the spine and rear flap fold.
