The X-Files

Two vintage color promotional portrait photographs of Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny in character from 1995, released during the second to third season of the beloved Fox television series, which aired in its original run from September 1993 through May 2002.

The show originally ran for nine seasons from 1995 through 2002, and was revived for a short six episode tenth season in 2016. Following the success of the revival, the show returned for a ten episode eleventh season in 2018. In addition to the television series, the show spawned two feature films, "The X-Files," directed by Rob Bowman in 1998, and "The X-Files: I Want to Believe," directed by creator Chris Carter in 2008, as well as the 2001 Fox series "The Lone Gunman," and numerous comic book adaptations.

Two FBI Special Agents, Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) investigate the eponymous "X-Files," marginalized, unsolved cases involving paranormal phenomena. Winner of 16 Primetime Emmy Awards.
