The Chosen One
N.p. Out of Nowhere Productions, 2007. Rainbow Revision Draft script for the 2010 film. Manuscript ink annotation of copy number "241" on the title page. Copy belonging to carpenter/estimator Chris Scher.
Rob Schneider, who directed and co-wrote the screenplay, stars as a suicidal middle-aged car salesman, who, while preparing his third suicide attempt, is interrupted by a tribe of Columbian shaman who traveled from South America believing he is The Chosen One. Shot in 2007, the film took three years before it was finally released direct to video in 2010, primarily due to confusion over marketing as it is primarily a dramatic film and was inaccurately marketed as a straightforward comedy.
Chris Scher has worked in American films from 1994 to the present. She was a propmaker, construction accountant/estimator/buyer, and carpenter on over 20 movies, including "The Last Seduction" (1994), "Pulp Fiction" (1994), "From Dusk Till Dawn" (1994), "The Horse Whisperer (1998), "Joy Ride" (2001), and others. She also performed the same work for prestige television dramas, including "The Bridge" (2014), "Ozark" (2017), and "Yellowstone" (2018).
Shot on location in Santa Clarita and Los Angeles, California, and Costa Rica.
