New York: Vintage, 1992. First Edition, a trade softcover original. SIGNED at the Iowa Writer's Worskshop during his first of many visits there as a teacher (preceded by his years there as a select student), and dated in the year of the book's publication: "Chris Offutt / Iowa / 92." Gold star-shaped label affixed to the front wrapper, stating, "A VINTAGE ORIGINAL."

Offutt's work has received awards from the Lannan Foundation, Guggenheim Foundation, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the National Endowment for the Arts. He received a Whiting Award in Fiction and Nonfiction. In 1996 he was named one of the twenty best young American fiction writers by Granta magazine.

Offutt has been a visiting faculty member at the Iowa Writers' Workshop, the University of Montana, the University of New Mexico, Grinnell College, Morehead State University, and Mercer University. He is teaching at the University of Mississippi as visiting faculty.
