From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.
Dorothy Arnold (born Dorothy Arnoldine Olson) was a nightclub singer before becoming film and television actress, and starred in 17 films from 1937 to 1958, as well as several television appearances in the 1950s. Her most notable performances were in the 1939 film "The Phantom Creeps," opposite Bela Lugosi, and the 1939 film "The House of Fear," opposite William Gargan. Arnold is perhaps best known as the first wife of baseball star Joe DiMaggio.
