Two original publicity photographs of Anne Nagel

Universal City: Universal Pictures, 1940-1941. Two vintage publicity photographs of actress Anne Nagel. One with a printed mimeo snipe on the verso, and both with the stamp of studio photographer Ray Jones on the same.

Anne Nagel began her acting career as a ballet dancer in the 1932 Mack Sennett comedy "Hypnotized," going on to sign with Warner Brothers in 1936, and Universal Pictures in 1939. She appeared in several Universal serials, including "The Green Hornet" (1940), and was often cast in comedy and adventure films by the studio.

From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.
