Universal City: Universal Pictures, 1941. Vintage publicity portrait photograph of Canadian-American actress Ann Rutherford. Newspaper clipping, date stamps, and stamp of studio photographer Ray Jones on the verso.

Ann Rutherford began her Hollywood acting career in the mid-1930s, eventually signing with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Later in the decade, MGM loaned Rutherford to Selznick International for what is now perhaps her best-remembered role, as Careen O'Hara in "Gone With the Wind" (1939). The actress began freelancing in the early 1940s, appearing in a number of film musicals and comedies, including "Two O'Clock Courage" (1945) and "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" (1947).

From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.

Approximately 7.5 x 9.25 inches, trimmed irregularly. Very Good.
