Universal City: Universal Pictures, Circa 1928. Vintage publicity photograph of Ethlyne Clair upon a horse, circa 1928, with a Universal Pictures stamp crediting photographer Ray Jones and a mimeo snipe printed on the verso.

Ethlyne Clair was a popular actress in silent westerns, comedies, and serials from 1924 to 1932. Her career was boosted by two serials "The Vanishing Rider" (1928) and "Queen of the Northwoods" (1929), and in 1929 was named as one of the 13 WAMPAS Baby Stars. Unfortunately Clair was one of many silent film actors whose career was thwarted upon the advent of talkies and retired from film acting in 1932. In 1928 Clair starred in four westerns for Universal Pictures, "The Vanishing Rider," "Wild Blood," "Riding for Fame," and "Guardians of the Wild."

10.25 x 8 inches. Very Good plus, with light creasing, a tiny chip from the top right corner, and faint emulsion regularities to the right side of the photograph.
