From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.
German stage and film actress, as well as a dancer, singer, and author, Luli Deste made her film debut in the 1932 British comedy "My Friend the King," directed by Michael Powell, and starred in eleven British, US, and German films from 1932 to 1941. Finding quality roles difficult to come by, Deste quit film acting in 1941.
