Two vintage publicity photographs of Polly Rowles, including one double weight photograph INSCRIBED by Rowles on the top left, "For Miss Bremer / from Polly Rowles." The double weight photograph has two studio stamps on the verso, one crediting photographer Ray Jones and one noting Rowles "in Universal Pictures."

From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.

Polly Rowles was a stage, screen, and television actress who debuted in 1936 in "Love Letters of a Star," and only appeared in nine films between 1936 and 1986. Rowles made her Broadway debut in 1938 as Calpurnia in Orson Welles' production of "Julius Ceasar," and appeared as Vera Charles in the original 1956 Broadway production of "Auntie Mame."

9.5 x 7.5 inches and 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with a small closed tear to the top center of the double weight photograph.
