Universal City: Universal Pictures, 1947. Two vintage publicity photographs featuring Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Paula Corday from the 1947 film. Both photographs with mimeo snipes affixed to the versos, one also with a provenance stamp on the verso.

From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.

Loosely based on the 1926 novel "His Majesty, the King," by Cosmo Hamilton. King Charles II lives in exile in the Netherlands after being deposed by Oliver Cromwell and his supporters. There, Charles falls in love with a farm girl while hiding from Cromwell's assassins.
