From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.
Jean Arthur was an acclaimed stage and screen actress who appeared in nearly 100 films from the early 1920s to the early 1950s. Among her many films include, "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town" (1936), "You Can't Take It with You" (1938), "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" (1939), "Only Angels Have Wings" (1939), "The Devil and Miss Jones" (1941), "The Talk of the Town" (1942), "A Foreign Affair" (1948), "The More the Merrier" (1943, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award), and her final film "Shane" (1953).
