From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.
A popular and growing silent film star, Ethlyne Clair, was one of many actors whose voice didn't resonate well in talkies, cutting her career short. She starred in nearly 50 films in only eight years, from 1924 to 1932, and in 1929 was named a WAMPAS Baby Star. Some of her more notable performances include the serials "The Vanishing Rider" (1928) and "Queen of the Northwoods" (1929).
