From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.
A prolific actress of silent and pre-code films, Dorothy Gulliver appeared in nearly 100 films from 1926 to 1968. Named a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1928, Gulliver's more notable films include the serials "Winking Idol" (1926) and "Strings of Steel" (1926), "The Galloping Ghost" (1931), "Custer's Last Stand" (1936), and a rare leading role in John Cassavetes' independent classic "Faces" (1968).
