Seven Sinners
N.p. N.p., Circa 1960s. Two vintage reference photographs of actors Marlene Dietrich, John Wayne, and other male actors clowning around on the set of the 1940 film. Taken circa 1940 and struck circa 1960s, one with an annotation in manuscript ink on the verso indicating the photograph as having been struck from the negative.
A torch singer finds true love with a handsome naval officer, to the dismay of his commander and the other officers. The first of three films to pair Dietrich and Wayne, and the American debut of British actress Anna Lee.
From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.
Set in the Pacific Islands.
