Two original portrait photographs of Lee Tracy by photographer Ray Jones, circa 1934
Los Angeles: Paramount Pictures, Circa 1934. Two vintage portrait photographs of Lee Tracy by photographer Ray Jones, circa 1935, each with two studio stamps on the versos, one crediting photographer Jones and one noting Tracy in Paramount Pictures. One photograph also with a "1934" date stamp on the verso and one also with a provenance stamp and sticker on the verso.
From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.
Stage, screen, radio, and television actor Lee Tracy epitomized the fast-talking, wisecracking style of pre-Code Hollywood. Tracy appeared in 39 films from 1929 to 1964 and is perhaps best remembered for his Academy Award nominated performance in the 1964 film "The Best Man," as well as the weekly radio and television series "Martin Kane: Private Eye" (1952-1954), and the syndicated British-American crime series "New York Conficential" (1958-1959).
8 x 10 inches. Near Fine.
