A dramatization of the early life of Italian conductor Arturo Toscanini, focusing on his time in Rio de Janeiro as part of an orchestra tour, during which time he tries to convince his childhood idol, a faded opera diva, to leave retirement for a staging of "Aida."

Shot on location in Lisbon and Puglia.

White wrappers with a title label affixed to the front wrapper, dated August 8, 1987, and noting "Script copied in London from draft supplied to Tom Rand". Missing title page, presumably as issued. 128 leaves, with last page of text numbered 125. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Script housed in a black three-ring binder.
