Featuring brilliant performances from Shelley Duvall as the self-deluded, socially maladroit Millie, Janice Rule as the mysterious pregnant painter Willie, and Sissy Spacek as the young, timid, and fawning Pinky. Nominated for the Palme d'Or.

Set in a small California desert town, and shot on location in Palm Springs, Thousand Palms, and Desert Hot Springs, California.
