Roland was founded in Osaka in 1972 by Ace Electronic Industries founder Ikutaro Kakehashi, with the goal of creating inexpensive, simple, and portable machines. In 1978, the company released their first polyphonic synthesizer, the Jupiter-4, to widespread acclaim.

Volumes generally Near Fine to Very Good plus in perfect-bound wrappers, two with light foxing on the wrappers, housed together in the original paper slipcase. Slipcase Very Good, with moderate foxing and soil overall.
